Ylva Fältholm the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gävle

The government has today decided that Ylva Fältholm, Professor at Luleå University of Technology, will be the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gävle.

– I am very honored by this confidence! The University of Gävle is a university that wants to be developed and has two profiles, Built Environment and Health Promotion, which will play a crucial role in the development of our society. The University's strong work for a sustainable living environment impresses and I look forward to working with colleagues and students on that, says Ylva Fältholm.

Ylva Fältholm is currently working as a professor of Human Work Science in the subject of Industrial Work Environment at Luleå University of Technology. She has had several senior positions within the university as well as a lot of involvement in collaborative work and a variety of board and trust assignments, such as the Institute for Space Physics and the Faste Laboratory, a center for innovations.

– Ylva has been a great asset to Luleå University of Technology and we are grateful for her contributions over the years. We will miss her but are happy at the same time and wish her good luck in her new role as Vice-Chancellor at Gävle University, says Åsa Wallström, Head of Department of Business Administration and Industrial Engineering at Luleå University of Technology.

A unanimous board decided in February to propose Ylva Fältholm as new Vice-Chancellor at Gävle University.

– I am convinced that Ylva Fältholm will be a perfect Vice-Chancellor to lead the University's fantastic success trip, said Carina Blank, chairman of the board of Gävle University.

Ylva Fältholm succeeds the current Vice-Chancellor Maj-Britt Johansson.
