The meeting opened with the Cloudberry representative, Karl Andersson, talked about the latest news in the Cloudberry project. Thereafter, the Skellefteå Municipality data center manager, Anja Palm, presented the Skellefteå regions offer to data center operators, and went through some of the information that she uses to attract data centers to this region. Anja also raised the question about energy taxes as an important part of trying to attract data centers to Sweden.
Olov Schelén then went through Cloudberry's five ongoing pilot projects, including pilots in the meta-data center and big data for real-time analysis area. Then the real estate company Polaris and their manager Fredrik Löfstedt presented their offer and their history of having been a suppliers of data centers since the 1980s. Thereafter, Fredrik Karlsson, chief architect at Visma, talked about how the localization of data affects a supplier of IT within the Swedish public sector.
Before this half day event ended, there was time for a concluding panel discussion about the potential of data centers in the region. During the day there were opportunities to discuss future project ideas with Cloudberry representatives.
