Data centers in wood

A workshop, organized by Cloudberry Data Center, was held at Luleå University of Technology in Skellefteå, regarding the possibilities of building data centers in wood. Representatives from Skellefteå Municipality, wood researchers from the University and regional companies, gathered to generate ideas and discuss opportunities and future possible ways forward.

The Cloudberry project started in 2013 when Facebook recently established one of the world's largest data centers in Luleå and preparations were made for several additional datacenter operators in Norrlands`s coastal region. Purpose and goals of the project Cloudberry Data Centers is to catalyze national growth by initiating an attractive and efficient environment, a center for integrated education, research, design and innovation (ERDI) in the area of ​​resource efficient, large-scale green handle of large volumes of data with a primary focus on clouds of/in data centers.
