The conference is the ninth parliamentary conference in the Barents region. The theme of the conference is sustainable transport and infrastructure. There are parliamentarians and representatives of counties, municipalities and regions in the Barents area. It is about strengthening the security policy, economic and social aspects and the development forces in the area.
CDT's operations manager and assistant professor Karl Andersson, presented the Kolarctic project DIT4BEARs and the development of IT-based solutions that simplify the mobility of people, products and knowledge within the Barents region.
DIT4BEARs stands for Disruptive IT for Barents Euro-Arctic Regions. The project works with four different use cases in the areas of smart roads, smart ID block chain applications, waste management and prevention of collisions with reindeer on roads.
The overall goal is to improve the adaptation and transfer of information technologies (IoT, Big Data and blockchains, and others) for the social and financial needs of the Barents Euro-Arctic Region.
