Welcome to an information meeting about Cloudberry Datacenters. During the meeting the research center as a whole as well as its different subprojects will be presented.

How could a data center be built differently in order to reduce energy consumption? How can we use waste heat from server halls? And what kind of software architecture is needed to increase energy efficiency? These are some of the many questions that the research groups at Luleå University of Technology and RISE are trying to find out in Cloudberry Datacenters.

The research covers everything from energy systems, software, data clouds to research on buildings, cooling and energy recycling. Cloudberry Datacenters research is unique because of its interdisciplinary and holistic approach to data centers. 
 
The goal is to become a hub for research, development, knowledge and implementation in the data center area. While large-scale data centers require huge amounts of energy, Cloudberry Datacenters is also working to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by developing new technologies, processes, methods and strategies for increased energy efficiency.

About Cloudberry Datacenters
The purpose of Cloudberry Datacenters is to develop new knowledge about energy and resource-efficient data centers by conducting high-quality research. The overall goal is to generate research results and knowledge that help to streamline energy use in data centers, reduce global carbon dioxide emissions and contribute to a more efficient energy system as a whole. Cloudberry is financed by The Swedish Energy Agency (Energimyndigheten), Region Norrbotten, Skellefteå Kraft, Umeå Energi, and five municipalities (Boden, Luleå, Piteå, Skellefteå, and Älvsbyn).
