Published: 17 August 2015

5th International Conference on Hot Sheet Metal Forming of High-Performance Steel CHS² 2015

The conference CHS² – International conference on hot sheet metal forming was held in Toronto, Canada 1 to 3 June 2015. The conference had 260 participants from around the world presented 82 papers with the subject thermoforming of high performance steel.

For the first time, the conference was arranged in North America, where a strong interest in technology has emerged. The conference was organized in cooperation with the Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST), a nonprofit organisation with 16,000 members worldwide. AIST is recognized as a global leader in networking, education and sustainability programs to promote steel technology. CHS² 2015 was co-arranged was with Zinc-Tech 2015 at the Sheraton Centre in Toronto and had the specific common parts of coated steel dedicated for thermoforming applications.

During the conference the delegates had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in thermo-mechanical forming processes. The presentations included topics microstructure evolution, thermal properties, surface heat transfer, high temperature tribology, heat treatment, simulations, and much more.

The conference dinner was held at the Hockey Hall of Fame were all participants could location learn about icehockey history and see lots of hockey memorabilia from famous players.
