Workshop about activity in nursing home

Published: 4 June 2018

In the Samuel project, the needs analysis is one of the most central activities. They form the basis for which innovation and development projects to be prioritized as collaborative projects. A needs analysis of activities has been carried out at Midsskogen's nursing home.

Together with the unit manager of the accommodation, it was decided that the workshop should be about activity - what activities are being carried out today with the residents, individually or in groups, what activities are needed and what are the challenges and opportunities?

During the workshop, each person wrote down on yellow patches what activities are taking place today and what they need. The patches were grouped and discussed jointly by the staff. When the grouping was done, challenges and opportunities were discussed to accomplish the activities that are needed.

Four people from the staff at the accommodation attended the workshop held on May 29 in Midskog's nursing home. A follow-up meeting is scheduled on June 14th. Until then, staff will think about what they can do to overcome the challenges and exploit the opportunities.

The workshop was led by digitizing strategist Maria Jansson and Anneli Nyman, Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy at Luleå University of Technology, who will process the material and return an analysis.
