What do these concepts, loaded with strong positive judgements, signify? Which different interpretive possibilities do they present? How do these concepts relate to each other? Is it at all possible to combine democracy with a sustainable development? These and similar questions are throughout the course discussed both from theoretical and empirical starting-points. Different approaches are also analysed and compared, for example regarding the view on citizenship and citizens\\' rights and responsibilities.","sv":"Demokrati och hållbarhet är en kurs i politisk teori där relationen mellan tre fenomen som är centrala inom statsvetenskapen undersöks: demokrati, legitimitet och hållbar utveckling.
