Field visits will be made to mines and equipment manufacturers. \nMaintenance and Mine Automation \nProcess oriented approaches to mine production and the presentation of methods to increase availability and of production systems and reduce operation and capital costs. \nSustainable Resource Exploitation and Environmental Studies \nThe ecosystems and how to asses environmental impact from mineral extraction will be covered. Environmental management and monitoring methods will be applied.\nMineral Economy and Market\nCalculation and prediction of the economy of ores and mines, the future needs and markets for mineral commodities, and how to finance mineral investments and trade. \nIndustrial and International training\nTo be awarded the degree Master of Science in Engineering, the student must have a minimum of six months of industrial practical experience from a relevant industrial sector. Prior training is subject to the approval of the University.\nMaster thesis\nThe student chooses a M.Sc. thesis project for the final specialisation during the fourth semester.
