Alumni of the year 2021: Shilpi Sinha, Amanda Jansson and Maria Häll

Actress Amanda Jansson, IT pioneer Maria Häll and industrial design engineer Shilpi Sinha have been named Alumni of the Year at Luleå University of Technology in the anniversary year 2021.

Alumni of the year 2020: Helena Hed and Meleknur Alevcan

Meleknur Alevcan has helped hundreds of elderly people with free therapy during the corona pandemic. Helena Hed has had a long and successful career at Sweco, and will soon be the new President and CEO of listed PE Teknik & Arkitektur.

Facebook's Head of Agency Liv Sandberg and Philip Engström, who has a successful career at the company Important Looking Pirates, have been named Alumni of the Year at Luleå University of Technology.

Awards to alumni and innovators

CEO and ”Space doctor” new Alumni of the year

They are former students at Luleå University of Technology, with careers as "space doctor" and CEO at a global engineering and design company. Now, Ella Carlsson Sjöberg and Jonas Gustavsson have been appointed alumni of the year at their Alma mater.

Appreciated lecture by Fredrik Larsson

Fredrik Larsson, this years alumn, held a long-awaited lecture for physiotherapist students at Luleå University of Technology. About 80 students came to listen to his trip from Luleå University of Technology to his role as a physiotherapist for IFK Göteborg and the Swedish national team in football.

Gala draws attention to inspiring work efforts

During the academic week, a number of prices are awarded from Luleå University of Technology. During Tuesday evening, prizes were awarded to the Year's Alumni, the Innovator of the Year and the Collaboration Prize for the Year at the Vetenskapens hus.

Alumnus 2016

Over 100 people came to congratulate the Alumni of the Year at Luleå University of Technology. The festive ceremony celebrated award winners, Maria Ågren, Director General of the Swedish Transport Agency, and Olov Renberg, one of the founder of BehavioSec. Both received a prize and congratulations at Vetenskapens hus (House of Science).
