The course covers and discusses several implementations of digital repositories (e.g. dSpace, Fedora), as well as organisation and maintenance of such repositories. The student aquires understanding of different preservation strategies, such as migration and emulation, and how different content types may influence the choice of strategies. The student also acquires knowledge on management of digital repositories as well as management of digital curation organisations, and how this influence preservation strategies, or vice versa. At the end of the course, the student will be able to suggest preservation strategies, and organisation of repositories for different types of institutions.
