This must include the following courses; Design: process and method (D0030A) 15 credits, Design: theory and practice (D0037A) 15 credits, or equivalent knowledge. Good knowledge in English, equivalent to English 6. More information about English language requirements SelectionThe selection is based on 1-165 credits.Course Aim After the course the student will: Knowledge Understand and implement sketching techniques to build volumes of ideas. Be aware of different sketch types use and purposes. Have knowledge and practical experience of how to enhance expressions and present ideas using digital tools. Skills Be able to use the sketch as a creative tool in concept development and presentations. Be able to describe and communicate shapes, materials and contexts. Be able to analyze and optimize the visual presentation of concepts. Approach Show ability for progression in learning and ability to independently develop ones competencies. Contents The course is divided into 3 parts, and each part ends with a wall presentation: 1. Explorative sketches: Creative sketching. Mass sketching. Simple rotations. Light studies. Concept generation. Compilation of explorative posters in photo editing software. 2. Explanatory sketches: Simplified anatomy and human actors. Concept description, methods. Material description. Visual readability. Contrasts and messages. Layout and composition of explanatory posters in photo editing software. 3. Expressive sketches: ● Expressions and manners. ● Visualizing complex objects. ● Processing of sketches in photo editing software. ● Digital sketching. ● Persuasive renderings. ● Layout and composition of expressive posters in photo editing software.Realization Each course occasion´s language and form is stated and appear on the course page on Luleå University of Technology's website. The course consists of lessons with walk troughs and guidance paired with assignments and exercises. Three main wall presentations are performed as seminars where the students learn to dialogue their work by giving and receiving criticism, and also learn from each other. The student will also compose a workbook where the topics of the course are described and analyzed. Most of the assignments are individual, and 170 hours are dedicated outside of the schedule to work with them.Examination If there is a decision on special educational support, in accordance with the Guideline Student's rights and obligations at Luleå University of Technology, an adapted or alternative form of examination can be provided. The course is given with differentiated grades. Grades depend on how well the student has assimilated the content and context of the assignments and how it is presented.Remarks Students must register to the courses themselves or contact the ETKS educational administration not later than three days after the quarter commences. Failure to do so can result in the place being lost. This also applies to the students with a place guarantee. Due to similar content, the course can not be included in a degree together with the course D0001A or other courses with similar content.
