This must include the following courses: Graphic design: Typography and semantics 2 (D0040A) 15 credits and Graphic design: Identity design (D0041A) 15 credits, or equivalent knowledge. More information about English language requirements SelectionThe selection is based on 1-165 credits.Course Aim After the course, the participant is expected to be able to show an advanced level of: Knowledge and understanding 1 In-depth knowledge of theoretical and practical foundations in graphic design 2 Understanding of text-based narratives in relation to different contexts 3 Understanding aspects of gender equality, ethics and and critique of norms in a situated context 4 Understanding of artistic techniques, materials and media, color and form theory, as well as cultural and art historical perspectives Ability and skill 5 Ability to formulate relevant critical questions for graphic design in a broad contemporary and future sense 6 Ability to critically analyze, identify and formulate a creative brief for a specific context 7 Ability to apply norm-creative strategies and principles 8 Ability to acquire user perspectives and interpret stakeholder perspectives 9 Ability to lead independently and take responsibility 10 Ability to perform artistic tasks within given time frames 11 Ability to independently identify, formulate and solve artistic and design problems 12 Ability to produce works of art with originality and innovation 13 Ability to expose works of art to a specific context and audience 14 Ability to communicate graphic design orally, in writing, ethically and visually Judgment 15 Ability to make assessments with regard to relevant, contextual, artistic, societal and ethical aspects 16 Ability to interpret, question and illuminate aspects that contribute to new or deeper knowledge in graphic design 17 Ability to reflect on one's own and others' artistic approach Contents The course is one of the final elements in the Graphic Design program and includes independent completion of assignments/project in graphic design and visual communication. The course content is intended to deepen knowledge of graphic design and the ability to carry out design projects independently and in collaboration with others. Self-management, project management and team management are key elements.Realization Each course occasion´s language and form is stated and appear on the course page on Luleå University of Technology's website. The course mainly consists of professional, practical and independent implementation of an artistic design assignment in a small team with the support of the course supervisor. The assignments aim to give you the opportunity to practice your independence and professionalism, ie that the idea is that you will face the same type of issues and tasks that you will later encounter in your professional practice. During the implementation of the project, there is ongoing feedback at pre-determined seminars for 25%, 50%, 75%, 90% completion. During these formative seminars, peer reviews, discussions, reflections and workshops are conducted on the current course topic and based on the recipients’ prerequisites.Examination If there is a decision on special educational support, in accordance with the Guideline Student's rights and obligations at Luleå University of Technology, an adapted or alternative form of examination can be provided.
