Entry requirements

In order to meet the general entry requirements for first cycle studies you must have successfully completed upper secondary education and documented skills in English language and F0004T Physics 1, F0030T Continuum mechanics and Vector calculus as in M0032M Functions of several variables and computer tools. Or F0031T Hydromechanics and Vector calculus as in Mathematics M M0013M or equivalent. Good knowledge in English, equivalent to English 6.

Selection

The selection is based on 1-165 credits.



Course Aim
After the course the student:
- should know how to perform analytical calculations of coefficient of lift and moment for thin airfoils.
- should know how to analyse three-dimensional effects on the coefficient of drag.
- should know how to calculate coefficients of lift and drag of airfoils using the software multiphysics.

Contents
Basic fluid mechanics: Compressible fluid flow.Boundary layers and elementary potential flow:
Aerodynamics: Flow around solid bodies and wings. Wing sections, lift and drag.
Supersonic effects. 3D effects.
