This course is about including environmental impacts ahead of strategic decisions applying system analysis. Training System thinking, Anticipatory and Integrated problem-solving competencies. Basic knowledge about environmental problems is required.
Environmental Systems Analysis aims to support decision-making for sustainable development. We do this by introducing the concept of system thinking and integrated problem-solving frameworks to complex sustainability problems, as well as looking into different ethical positions linked to the environment. Using case-studies, we analyse different ways that environmental impacts (from energy related technologies, products and/or systems) can be considered to compare different technologies, products, potential projects, policies, plans or programs.
