The Master’s programme in music performance focuses on four interacting perspectives, all of which aim to put one’s own music performance in a context:

• Interpretation

• Analysis

• Tradition/Innovation

• The public interaction

This course is a continuation of Music Performance - Classical Musician 2 and aims for a deepening of the set objectives and further development of personal artistry in the chosen field of music.

After the end of the course, the student shall have:

• acquired a deepened awareness of his or her musical analysis and in the performance of chosen repertoire

• acquired deepened knowledge about performance practices and sense of style

• acquired a deepened stylistic awareness and artistic expressiveness

• showed deepened ability to seek new ways of interacting in artistic and musical constellations

• showed extensive independence in his or her artistry and musical expression.

Every teaching session constitutes an examined presentation of assigned tasks.

The examination of the course takes place in the final presentation.

The tasks presented are determined by the teacher and student together based on the individual planning.

For the grade of Pass (Godkänd), it is expected that the student has carried out and presented the assigned tasks, all in such a way that the intended course learning outcomes are fulfilled.

For the grade of Pass with credit (Väl godkänd), it is expected that the student has fulfilled all requirements for the grade of Pass, and in addition, demonstrated a skill and originality in the musical performance that exceeds what is required for the grade of Pass.
