Selection

The selection is based on final school grades or Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test.



Course Aim
Students shall after this course be able to identify and explain the factors that create long-term economic growth or stagnation; as well as explain how economic crises have occurred and developed throughout history.

Contents
The course is focused on the function and development of the market economy, capitalism and the global market from the early 1800’s to current time. The main focus of the course is western civilization, i.e. Europe and North America.

Realization
Lectures and individual exam.

Examination
Written and oral presentation and individual written exam.

Remarks
Students must register for the courses themselves, or contact ETS educational administration eduets@ltu.se,not later than three days after the quarter commences. Failure to do so can result in the place being lost. This rule also applies to students with a guaranteed place.
