This course is for students who want to acquire tools to meet today's and tomorrow's industrial challenges where analysis of large datasets is vital to informed decision-making for important problems.

We live in a time where access to data is increasing very quickly, but also in a time when the opportunities and methods to analyze large datasets increase rapidly. Both today's engineers, but even more so tomorrow's engineers, work in an environment where handling and analyzing data is a key competency for companies and organizations. Engineers often have access to large datasets. A subset of these that can support the work of finding new, fact-based solutions to business problems. The Applied data analytics for engineers course is designed to provide the aspiring engineer with the knowledge and understanding as well as the proficiency and ability to effectively analyze data and thereby support decision making. The course deals with both theoretical and practical aspects of data analysis of large datasets and strengthens the student's ability to evaluate analysis results.
