Course Aim
The aim of the course is that the student shall • know how to apply and explain parts of the concrete codes (BBK04 alt. Eurocode 2) • know how to design concrete beams regarding bending and shear • know how to design concrete slabs both by the theory of elasticity and the theory of plasticity • know and explain the counteraction between bending moments and normal forces for concrete columns • know the basics of fatigue and torsion

Contents
• Regulations and codes o BBK04, Eurocode 2 o Environmental classes • Concrete beams o bending o shear o curtailment o anchorage o lapping • Concrete slabs o Elasticity theory o Yield line theory o Table method o Strip method • Concrete columns o Interaction between moment and compression and tension forces • Fatigue • Torsion

Realization
The student takes part of lectures, exercises and literature for solving compulsory assignments regarding concrete beams and concrete slabs. The work is presented in a written reports and reinforcement drawings. Laboratory work of casting and testing a concrete slab. The student is trained in producing written reports.

Examination
Compulsory and passed assignments and reports of laboratory work. Written exam with differentiated grades.
