The selection is based on final school grades or Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test.

Course Aim
The aim of the course is to give the students ability, with geographical technology, to collect, store, analyse and visualize geographical data.
Further more the students shall be familiar with and practice building geographical databases and design small geographical information systems (GIS) with basic functionality.

- Introduction to the subject field Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
- Traditional GIS-software: ArcGIS
- Practises, including:
Layers management
Database management
Creating and displaying data
Designing maps
Analyzing data

Lectures, laboratory work and examination on campus or as Internet based distance course. No compulsory lectures.

Assignment report.
