Course Aim
The student should, on completion of the course, be able to:
  • Describe and explain the research process including data collection methods and analytical methods with both qualitative and quantitative approach
  • Systematically search literature and formulate a relevant scientific question
  • Apply relevant statistical analytical methods
  • Reflect on radiography as science in a scientific theoretical perspective, its scientific basis and relation to the profession of the radiographer
  • Explain research ethics principles and identify research ethics issues in the research process and from a community perspective.

  • Quantitative and qualitative research methods for data collection and processing,
  • Excel-based assignment in statistics
  • Research documentation and critical article review

Teaching and learning take place through individual studies, lectures, laboratory sessions, study assignments and seminars, as a basis for the project plan of the degree project. Focus is on methods in radiography including description of the main academic subject, relevant research articles and the relationship between science and good clinical practice. Participation in laboratory sessions and seminars is compulsory.

Examination in scientific specialisation. Critical review of scientific articles and research methods are presented in a written assignment, and in seminars.  Oral and written presentation of qualitative and quantitative methods. To pass the course, it is required that the all parts of the course be completed and passed. Criteria for pass and pass with distinction are stated in the study guide

This is a first-cycle course. Study supervision is provided in the course room in Canvas.
