Entry requirements

In order to meet the general entry requirements for first cycle studies you must have successfully completed upper secondary education and documented skills in English language + Swedish upper secondary school courses Sport and Health 1, Mathematics 2a/2b/2c , General Science 2, Social Studies 1b/1a1+1a2 (specifik entry A15). Or: Swedish upper secondary school courses Sport and health A, Mathematics B, General Science B, Social Studies A (specifik entry 17)

Course Aim
After completing the course, the student should be able to:
  1. Account for basic human musculoskeletal anatomy.
  2. Give an account of the human musculoskeletal anatomy.
  3. Describe the human eukaryotic cell function
  4. Describe nerve cells and nervous system Anatomy-Physiology and be able to examine simpler tendon reflexes.
  5. Describe different types of tissues, its maturity, and aging.

The forms of teaching are individual work in the form of reading literature and working materials, lectures, group collaboration and laboratory reports. Students will be able to use the acquired knowledge with a view to their future professional role as physiotherapists e.g. by being able to identify anatomical structures and explore easier tendon reflexes.

The aim of the course is examined through a practical examination and through written individual exam of specific parts of the course.

This is a first-cycle course. A Study Guide can be found in the virtual classroom in Canvas. A pass in this course is a prerequisite for Work Placement courses.
