Entry requirements

In order to meet the general entry requirements for first cycle studies you must have successfully completed upper secondary education and documented skills in English language and Basic entry requirements and Degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Diagnostic Radiology/ Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy or other comparable medium-term health sciences programme as well as Medical science: Cardiology 15 credits (e.g. M0020H)

The selection is based on 1-165 credits.



Course Aim
At the end of the course, the student will:
  • Be able to account for cardiac pharmacology
  • Be able to account for detailed pathology and diagnostics within cardiology
  • Be able to interpret ECGs
  • Be able to account for common congenital heart defects in adults

  • Circulatory physiology
  • Detailed pathology
  • Pharmacology
  • Detailed ECG interpretation
  • Brief review of current physiological, radiological and nuclear medicine diagnostic methods in cardiology
  • Evidence-based medicine

Realization
The course is run as a flexible learning distance course. The course is completely web-based. Teaching takes place in the form of individual literature studies with the aid of lectures, seminars, study assignments and an advanced study assignment. A scientific and evidence-based approach is reflected throughout the course. The course contains mandatory elements.

Examination
Written exam, study assignment and seminar advanced study assignment. Alternative examination assignments may occur. Criteria for a pass and pass with credit are indicated in the study guide.

Remarks
A prerequisite for doing the course is an internet connection. A computer with a headset, microphone and webcam is required. The study guide is available in the university’s virtual learning environment.
