Or: Swedish upper secondary school courses Mathematics B, General Science B, Social Studies A (specifik entry 16) More information about English language requirements SelectionThe selection is based on final school grades or Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test.Course AimAfter having completed the course the student will be able to: Explain the key concepts within the primary field of radiography Describe the profession, skills and professional development of a radiology nurse Explain theories, concepts and principles of ethics and the importance to the radiology nurse Describe relevant laws and regulations of importance to the radiology nurse Understand team collaboration between different professionals involved in the care chain Carry out information searches and apply correct reference management Contents Radiography as the primary field for the radiology nurse Professions, skills and areas of responsibility of the radiology nurse Orientation within the radiology business Patient safety, laws and regulations Theories, concepts and principals of ethics of significance to radiography Basic scientific training and information search Placement RealizationTeaching and learning take place through self-directed studies, study assignments, group discussions seminars and placements. Lectures are held in selected parts of the course. Participation in workshops, seminars and placements is compulsory. The content of the course components and its form of tuition are specifically targeted at the radiology nurse profession.ExaminationThe course learning outcomes will be examined and assessed through submitted individual and/or group assignments, seminars and placement. Achieving a Pass for the full course requires a Pass grade for all parts of the course and that all compulsory components have been completed.RemarksA pass grade must be achieved for the Placement in this course in order to be able to do the placement in the next placement course, M0100H. A pass grade must be achieved in this course before you can be admitted to the course, Radiography with a specialisation in conventional x-ray. This course includes components with placement training (placement components), covered by Special Regulations for Placement Training under a decision made by the head of department at the Department of Health Sciences, Luleå Technical University. Transition termsThe programme syllabus applies from the spring semester 2020 for those students who are then admitted to the programme. The course coordinator and subject manager will approve individual study plans for students who have been admitted to the previous programme syllabus and to resume studies after approved leave from studies in accordance with the current programme syllabus. If a course is no longer provided or has undergone major changes, the students will be offered two opportunities for examination during the first year after the change has taken place and then once a year for another 2 years based on the official course syllabus that applied at registration.
