The selection is based on 1-165 credits.



Course Aim
Upon completion of the course, the student shall be able to  
 
  • Describe and reflect critically on research ethics principles, as well as its importance in conducting scientific studies
  • Identify and phrase relevant research questions within radiography as well as the choice of study design and how data may be collected, analysed, and compiled.
  • Understand principles for systematically searching, evaluating, and quality-checking scientific articles
  • Publicly discuss and examine in a constructive manner
  • Apply academic writing principles regarding language, writing rules, and reference management
  • Understand principles of presentation of results, and results and method discussion
  • Formulate conclusions on how scientific research can contribute to the topics scientific basis
  • Identify and evaluate the need for further knowledge in order to continuously develop scientific skills

Realization
Each course occasion´s language and form is stated and appear on the course page on Luleå University of Technology's website.
The course modules are implemented with integrated work forms that support the student's understanding, deep learning and autonomy. This is accomplished through knowledge retrieval, problem solving and critical reflection based on the objectives of the course. The student’s learning is supported by lectures, independent study, individual and group assignments, as well as seminars. 

Participation and the completion of laboratory work, seminars, and assignments are obligatory.


Examination
If there is a decision on special educational support, in accordance with the Guideline Student's rights and obligations at Luleå University of Technology, an adapted or alternative form of examination can be provided.
A three-level scale is used for grading: Pass with distinction (VG), Pass (G) or Fail (U). The course objectives are examined through hand-in assignments, exams, and seminars. Alternative forms of examination may occur. To pass the entire course, passing grades are required on all parts of the course, and all compulsory parts must be completed.

Transition terms
This programme curriculum is valid from the spring semester of 2020 for all students who are admitted to the programme at that time. Programme coordinators and heads of department decide on individual study plans for students who have been admitted to a previous programme curriculum and resume their studies according to the current programme curriculum following a break in their studies. 

If a course has ceased to be given or has undergone major changes, the students will be offered two opportunities for examination in the first year after the change has taken place, and then once a year for a further 2 years, based on the course syllabus that applied at the time of registration.
