Course Aim
At the end of the course, the student is expected to be able to:
  • show the professional skills required to work as a registered nurse in Swedish healthcare and municipal healthcare

  • integration of the student’s knowledge, skills, abilities and approach from the courses taken as part of their training
  • clinical and theoretical examination of professional skills

Learning takes place through activities that promote interaction between students themselves and between teachers and students. Forms of work aim to integrate the student’s theoretical and clinical knowledge, which is done through active knowledge acquisition, problem-solving and critical reflection. Participation in examinations is mandatory.

Professional skills are examined individually through a two-part exam. Part 1 consists of a patient simulation at clinical training centres, conducted in pairs of students with individual assessment. Part 2 consists of a written web-based exam. To pass the course the learning objectives must be met, which means a pass in the course as well as active participation in the mandatory parts. Grades are set by the examiner.
