Selection

The selection is based on final school grades or Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test.



Course Aim

After successfully completing the course, the student is expected to be able to:

  • describe and reflect on the experience of living with mental illness
  • explain and discuss the importance of the family relationships for recovery with serious mental health problems
  • identify the needs of the individual and resources of persons with mental illness
  • give suggestions and discuss and present reasons for measures and approaches that can promote recovery
  • relate relationships, needs and actions with the aim of promoting recovery in the care of individuals with mental illness

  • Legislation and rights of importance for psychiatric care

Realization

Teaching and learning take place by means of self-directed independent studies, lectures, study assignments and seminars.
The course is web-based, without physical meetings.


Examination

A written hand-in paper assignment with a seminar
To receive a passing grade in the course, all parts of the course must be successfully completed and approved.
