Entry requirements

In order to meet the general entry requirements for first cycle studies you must have successfully completed upper secondary education and documented skills in English language + Swedish upper secondary school courses Mathematics 2a/2b/2c, Social Studies 1b/1a1+1a2 (specifik entry A5). Or: Swedish upper secondary school courses Mathematics B, Social Studies A (specifik entry 5)

The selection is based on final school grades or Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test.

Course Aim
The student shall acquire knowledge about the following:

  • Psychology's philosophical background
  • Important pioneers and their contribution to psychology as science
  • Contemporary trends in psychology
  • Psychology's possible future development
  • Oral and written presentation

The following issues are addressed in the course:

  • The philosophical background of Psychology
  • The pioneers of psychology
  • Current trends in psychology
  • Discussion about the future developement of psychology as a science
  • Students will write an essay and present it orally

Lectures, lesons and seminars.

Written exam 6.0 credits. Oral and written presentation 1.5 credits. VG on the oral and written presentation leads to that the student gets two extra points to the written exam. Participation in the seminars is included in the oral and written presentation.

Students must register for the courses themselves, or contact ETS educational administration, not later than three days after the quarter commences. Failure to do so can result in the place being lost. This rule also applies to students with a guaranteed place.

Due to similar content, the course can not be included in a degree together with the course P0018A or other courses with similar content.
