Course Aim
After completing the course, the student should be able to:
  • independently assimilate new material at advanced level
  • plan and carry out investigation or development work
  • integrate and combine previously acquired knowledge in the field of Space Engineering
  • apply in-depth knowledge in the field in calculations, simulations or design tasks.

The content of the project is specified in dialogue between the examiner and the student based on the student's specific prior knowledge. The work contains elements where the student integrates and combines previously acquired knowledge in order to perform calculations, simulations, or construction tasks within Space Engineering. The project is often given close to ongoing research projects at the Department of Computer Science, Electrical and Space Engineering.

The student independently plans and conducts an investigation or development work with the examiner as support.

If there is a decision on special educational support, in accordance with the Guideline Student's rights and obligations at Luleå University of Technology, an adapted or alternative form of examination can be provided.
Examination of the project takes place via written report.

The student prepares the application by making contact with the prospective examiner and then, in dialogue with the examiner, formulate a project proposal in the field of Space Engineering. By the examiner and the director of undergraduate studies approved application is made directly to the department on forms provided for the purpose.
