Entry requirements

In order to meet the general entry requirements for first cycle studies you must have successfully completed upper secondary education and documented skills in English language and completed at least 60 credits in the subject Psychology or Sociology, and completed the following course with at least a passing grade; Methods in social sciences 1 (P0045A) 15 credits or Methods in sociology I (S0047A) 15 credits, or equivalent.

Selection

The selection is based on 1-165 credits.



Course Aim
The student should after finishing the course have a fundamental understanding about the conditions and qualifications of investigation and evaluation work. The student will also be able to perform less advanced evaluation tasks. The student will also be able to explain the foundations of Swedish Public Administration.

Contents
The course discusses investigation and evaluation in its different phases and aspects, and also obstacles and possibilities within and between organizations from a sociological and psychological perspective. A review of the foundations of the Swedish Public Administration is a part of the study.

Realization
Each course occasion´s language and form is stated and appear on the course page on Luleå University of Technology's website.
The literature is explained and discussed through lectures, group exercises and seminars. During the seminars a number of existing evaluations are also analyzed and discussed. The course finishes with the students writing their own individual reports.

Examination
If there is a decision on special educational support, in accordance with the Guideline Student's rights and obligations at Luleå University of Technology, an adapted or alternative form of examination can be provided.

2.    Individual report 3,5 credits

Remarks
Students must register for the courses themselves, or contact ETS educational administration eduets@ltu.se, not later than three days after the quarter commences. Failure to do so can result in the place being lost. This rule also applies to students with a guaranteed place.

Due to similar content, the course can not be included in a degree together with the course S0044A or other courses with similar content.
