Entry requirements

In order to meet the general entry requirements for first cycle studies you must have successfully completed upper secondary education and documented skills in English language and In order to meet the general entry requirements for first cycle studies you must have successfully completed upper secondary education and documented skills in English language and The course assumes knowledge equivalent to: Etiology, pathophysiology, diagnostics, treatment and prognosis for diseases and injuries during life span (M0035H / M0078H, M0036H / M0079H). Basic methods for examining, assessing and treating people with impaired function in extremity, nervous system, respiratory and circulatory systems, and columna (S0071H / S0080H, S0073H / S0081H and S0045H / S0082HBasic physiotherapeutic clinical knowledge, vocational education (S0031H / S0087H). Data search, journal writing (S0058H / S0085H, S0071H / S0080H). The course furthermore requires the following courses to be passed: S0031H / S0087H, S0058H / S0085H, S0071H / S0080H, S0073H / S0081H and S0045H / S0082H or equivalent.

The selection is based on 1-165 credits.



Course Aim
On completion of the course, the student with a scientific foundation, based on current laws and regulations with an ethical approach, must be able to: 

1.                 Identify, choose and motivate a problem area in physiotherapy
2.                 Show the ability to independently plan and carry out a deepening work within the chosen problem area
3.                 Evaluate and discuss the conditions for the development of physical therapy in the problem area
4.                 Critically analyze and evaluate practices and conditions in the problem area
5.                 Propose development of theory, practice, service or product within the problem area


Contents
Theoretical and activity-based studies of a chosen problem in physiotherapy

Realization
The studies are conducted independently. The student will immerse himself in a problem area in physiotherapy based on his / her own interest. The studies of the problem area should provide knowledge of independently planning and implementing a deepening work within the chosen problem area as well as evaluate and discuss the conditions for physical therapy development in the problem area. 

The student prepares an individual study plan and is wielded from it. The studied the problem area, the theoretical background and the comparison with practice as well as proposals development of theory, practice, service or product within the problem area is presented at an examiner seminar


Examination
Objectives 1-2 are examined by written submission.

Grades 2-5 are examined according to the study plan and at a seminar.
