More information about English language requirements SelectionThe selection is based on 20-285 creditsCourse Aim On completion of the course, the student should independently have completed a degree project in Physiotherapy with specialisation in orthopaedic manual therapy encompassing 30 credits for second-cycle studies and with this shown: The ability to manage the time provided for carrying out the degree project. An extensive knowledge of physiotherapy and advanced knowledge within the field of the degree project as well as an advanced understanding of relevant research and development. The ability to critically and systematically integrate knowledge from scientific studies and theory concerning physiotherapy and relevant subject areas into the degree project. The ability to critically, independently and creatively identify problems and formulate research questions of relevance that can lead to the development of knowledge within physiotherapy. The ability to plan, and with appropriate methods carry out data collection, analysis and presentation of the data and other essential facts related to the research question of the degree project. The ability to critically and systematically synthesise and evaluate results and their contributions to knowledge creation, with consideration of relevant scientific, social and ethical aspects of the degree project. An awareness of ethical aspects of research and development. The ability to prepare a scientific degree project in writing and thereby clearly account for and discuss conclusions and the underlying knowledge and arguments on which they are based as well as demonstrate an understanding of the possibilities and limitations of science and its role in society. The ability to orally discuss the conclusions, knowledge and arguments on which the degree project is based during the defence session. The ability to orally discuss the conclusions, as well as the knowledge and arguments, of another degree project during opposition sessions. Contents Designing the project plan. Carrying out an ethical application for the project. Carrying out the project. Designing a scientific report according to prevalent international standards in physiotherapy. Defending the final project. Conduct a critical examination and opposition for another final project in the course. Realization In order to complete the course, the student should actively seek knowledge and solve problems using an inquiring and critically reflective approach. This means that the student should take responsibility by actively contributing to the achievement of course objectives through the planning of content and time. The student works individually. During the course, the student follows the research process by treating literature and articles, collecting and analysing data to write up in an academic paper. The contents of the course are processed through supervision, oral and written presentations for students and teachers and oral discussions in seminars. The course also includes two examinations with opposition and defence. Course requirement is attendance and an active participation in examination seminars where the student functions as opponent or respondent, but also at additional seminars, and preparation of a time plan for the degree project.Examination All aims are evaluated through written essay, its defence at a seminar and through opposition of another essay (Test 0001, 30 credits). Grading criteria for pass and pass with distinction are stated in the study guide.
