Entry requirements

In order to meet the general entry requirements for first cycle studies you must have successfully completed upper secondary education and documented skills in English language and Basic surveying 1 (Y0003B) or corresponding.

The selection is based on 1-165 credits.

Course Aim
After completing the course the student should be able to plan, solve and evaluate measuring tasks in construction. This means that the student can: - Calibrate and use common geodetic instruments. - Use the common methods for setting out and surveying. - Check and evaluate the correctness of the measurements. - Plan, solve and evaluate common measuring tasks.

Instrumentation, basic observation and theory of error. Methods for elevation and planar measurements. Integration of geodetic data into the CAD-technique.

The teaching will be given as lectures and training in field. The lectures will be focused on basic theory and problem solving. The field training encompasses instrument knowledge, field measurements and data processing.

Written examination, participation in field training and problem solving related to that.
