Our guide for new students.

1. Read the pre-arrival information for international students

On this page, you will find out all the necessary details as you prepare to study at Luleå University of Technology.

2. Find out more about your course/programme 

Click here for detailed information about registration, your first courses, the course plan and syllabuses as well as the schedule and contact information.

3. Get your user account

Your user account gives you access to the university's computers, the student portal My LTU, the e-Learning platform, wifi and student email. Click here to find out more »

4. Login to My LTU

Once you have downloaded your user account, login to My LTU with your username and password. You must accept applicable rules to activate your user account and log in to My LTU. Go here to login »

5. Register

More information about registration will be published on the page that has information about your programme  (See point 1).

6. Get an LTU card

Visit the Service Point/Student Reception Desk on campus. Your photo will be taken by the staff. In order to get an LTU card, you must present your ID (passport or driver's license). Find out more »

7. Watch the Academic Workshop video

The Academic Workshop deals with important information like course registration, exam registration and other important administrative issues that concern your studies. Click here to view video. You will need to login with your student username and password.

8. Arrival Week

During the arrival week you will sort out living accommodations, course registration and meet LURC. After that, there will be an Orientation Period so you can meet other students, find out about program and explore the city.  Details regarding the exact dates and activities will be made available upon arrival.
