International top student received Global Swede diploma

Lisa Kakar, a student at the Bachelor Programme in International Business Administration at Luleå University of Technology and an active proponent of women’s rights, is one of the students in Sweden who received a Global Swede diploma from Foreign Trade Minister Anna Hallberg.

The motivation for Lisa Kakar was:

Lisa Kakar is a master’s student in international business and an active proponent of women’s rights. As Lisa herself points out, ‘Education is the best strategy to liberate women from male domination, and this change will appear in Afghanistan through educated men and women like me.’ During her time in Luleå, she has not only achieved good study results, she has also worked for Save the Children and been involved in extra-curricular activities. Lisa received a scholarship for her second study year.

– It feels fantastic to have received this award and it also means that I get even better self-confidence. I am very happy that I chose to do exchange studies. In addition to the education itself, it's also a good opportunity to exchange different cultures, says Lisa Kakar.
