Why did you choose to study The Master Programme in Architectural Engineering?
I chose The Master Programme in Architectural Engineering because I felt that the program was a perfect blend of architecture and technology. In addition, I thought that the education would give me a good foundation to stand on, regardless of what I in the future would be interested in working with.
What are you doing now?
Right now I am doing my degree project in climate data automation in Stockholm, which is very exciting! It is very fun to have the opportunity to dive deep into a specific area and learn a lot!
What are your plans after your studies?
After my studies, I want to work with sustainability and digitalisation, as both of the two areas have caught my interest extra much in the last six months. Right now I am looking for a number of different positions with widely spread meanings, which feels extremely exciting. So it remains to be seen what the next step will be!
What attracted you to Luleå?
I chose to study in Luleå because I wanted to challenge myself to move away from my family and try to live in a place that I had no previous connection to.
What is the best thing about living in Luleå?
The best thing about living in Luleå during my studies was for me the cohesion that existed between the students. Since there are many students who do not come from Luleå, the community became very strong, almost like a second family.
What do you do in your spare time?
In my free time I usually read a lot and now during the pandemic there have also been a lot of puzzles and games! In addition to that, I have also started to learn programming on my own, so I also do some of that.
What do you want to work with in the future?
In the future I can imagine working in a number of different positions, I do not think I will want to work with the same thing for too long. But right now I want to learn more about how digitalisation and sustainability work linked to the construction industry, in order to be able to contribute to the change that it entails.
Do you have any advice for those who are considering applying for the program?
To those of you who are interested in applying, I recommend that you look up which courses are included in the program. If it feels right in the stomach, then search! Nothing is written in stone and it is possible to change direction, as civil engineering programs have many similar courses in common.
