Festive atmosphere at the final presentation day
90 graduation students had ironed their shirts and perfected their Powerpoints when it was time for the final presentations of theses at the Department of Engineering Sciences and Mathematics.
20 students at Luleå University of Technology participate in a project in Tanzania via the organization Engineers Without Borders. In July, they will go to the village of Bumilayinga in western Tanzania to build a water reservoir for an orphanage.
For the fourth consecutive year, students from Luleå University of Technology participated in the Delsbo Electric competition. The aim of the competition is to drive a rail vehicle as energy-efficient as possible on a stretch of 3.36 km. The students stood for a strong achievement when they beat last year's world record and finished second.
For the fifth consecutive year, the Department of Engineering Sciences and Mathematics had gathered all of the spring's theses presentations at the same day. This year, over 60 degree projects were presented in various technical areas, most of which were conducted in the form of sharp projects at the companies.
Ten students at the MSc engineering programmes in Sustainable Energy Engineering and Mechanical Engineering are preparing for the Delsbo Electric competition on 27 May. This is the third time Luleå University of Technology is participating with a team, and now they are aiming for the first victory.
