"I like the connection to nature and the possibility of field work"

Name: Daniel Lundqvist
Program: Natural Resources Engineering, specialization Environment and Water

Why did you choose to study this program?

I was thinking of various courses ranging from computer engineer to hunting master. I came to the conclusion that I like the logical problem solving that comes with the engineering industry while I like the connection to nature and the opportunity for field work that is offered both during the education but also in the work life afterwards.

What do you want to work with in the future?

Through the thesis I have gained the added benefit of flood modeling and water technology. In the fall, I want to build on what I have learned and work with water issues, preferably containing modeling. In the area I can imagine doing different things, ranging from dimensioning of water pipes to establishing water protection areas. I want to be "good at water" as it is our most important food and will always give us problems to solve by different forms. Whether we need to protect / protect from, lead away or clean water, you will find water problems that must be resolved wherever you go. And if it is something I learned in the education then it is fun to solve problems. Doesn't really matter what kind of problem you get the same kick anyway. So then I might as well focus on the most important problems (water).

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time I like to be active, which is great for living in Luleå. On weekends I like to go snowboarding, hiking or having movie nights with friends. During the weekdays, the most training will be.
