Madeleine Jakobsson is 22 years old and study the Master of Science in Civil Engineering

Why did you choose to study The Master Programme in Civil Engineering?

"I chose to study The Master Programme in Civil Engineering because of several different reasons. First of all, in the future I want to be involved in and developing society and its infrastructure. The Master Programme in Civil Engineering gives me knowledge in that area. Secondly, the university offers practical training during study time, which for me was a crucial factor when I see internship as a valuable opportunity to test something I may want to work with after graduation. Thirdly, the labor market is good and there are many different occupational roles."

What are your plans after graduation?

"After studying, I would like to move back to Stockholm and start working on some exciting infrastructure / community development companies, preferably in a leading position. I would also like to work on getting more girls to dare to take the step and study to engineers, perhaps by holding lectures"

Do you have any advice for future students at LTU?

"Choose the programme you think seems fun. In addition, I really want to push some extra to get involved in what's happening around the university, in different associations, sections or the like. There is really something for everyone and you will get your friends for life!"
