– We have the same rules that are used in the Venture Cup, the best business idea and business plan wins. This year we award four prizes in various categories, says Lars Stehn, Professor of Timber and responsible for the course Lean construction at Luleå University of Technology.
All those present had to sign a confidentiality agreement before the ideas were presented. It was an intensive afternoon when so many participants would present their ideas to streamline construction. The proposals were predominantly IT systems and applications with a focus on logistics, but there were also ideas of robots, increased safety on construction sites as well as some innovative inventions. Both sketches and physical models were used as visualization of business concepts.
One of the winning concepts were rewarded with a validation via LTU Business where savvy business development will help to take the first steps to start up a business.
– This business concept is so close to a commercial market as you can get. It is definitely worth taking the concept further towards the market, says Pär Johansson.
