A university degree holds weight and quality, making you particularly sought after. The profound understanding of programming you will acquire can broaden your job prospects, even outside the gaming industry. The education is in English and prepares you for working on the international market.

Description

The education includes both game programming courses and creative projects. You will study courses in AI Programming, Physics programming for games, Game Engine architecture, Graphics Programming, and Game Production, among others. From the ground up, you will be able to program and create the underlying system and rules that govern a game. You will learn to create artificial intelligence for video games, exploring algorithms and techniques that enable game characters to act intelligently and realistically within the game. Ensuring a game follows the laws and physics is crucial for realistic gaming experiences, which is why you will learn to simulate various physical phenomena. You will learn how to implement gravity, collisions, and motion in games. Furthermore, you will gain a deeper understanding of how game engines function and how to build and customize one. Graphics play a pivotal role in computer games, and you will learn to create visual effects and optimise graphic performance for the best visual experience. To prepare you for the job market we mirror the technology and software used in the industry today.

During the education, you will work on creative game projects, both individually and collaboratively. We provide authentic production environments, and you will have the opportunity to create games alongside students from the Computer Graphics for Games and Film program. The collaboration between programs allows you to apply your knowledge in both technical and creative ways. At the end of your education, you will complete a thesis project, and many choose to do this with a company in the industry, either in Sweden or abroad. When you graduate, you are well prepared for a career in the gaming industry. However, due to your solid expertise, you also have the option to seek employment in other programming related roles.

Career opportunities

After graduation, the exiting and rapidly growing gaming industry awaits you. You will have the opportunity to pursue jobs all over the world. You can work at major companies in the gaming industry or smaller indie companies. For example, graduates have gone on to work at companies like Embark, Avalanche, and Ubisoft.
