I chose to study Climate Sensitive Urban Planning because I’d like to help make Canadian cities great four-season places.

Through travels and living in different cities in Canada, I’ve noticed a real opportunity to improve how our cities embrace winter. The Scandinavian approach to winter is something I’m inspired by, so Luleå was an exciting study location for me.

I think the way this study program combines the basics of urban planning with a climate focus will equip me with a unique skill set that is needed in urban planning departments across Canada. I come from an environmental sociology background so my learning curve has been steep, but I’m excited by how much I’ve learned in such a short amount of time.
