About ERASMUS+
Erasmus+ is a scholarship program funded by the European Commission. The Erasmus program aims to promote mobility among students within Europe and thereby contribute to increased employability, strengthened language skills and knowledge of other cultures. Luleå University of Technology has signed subject-related agreements within Erasmus+ and thus made it possible for students to participate in the program.
Traineeships within Erasmus+
You can also apply for an Erasmus traineeship grant for a traineeship or ex-job. See more information under "Traineeships and Projects".

Nordic countries
Nordic countries - Nordplus
NORDPLUS is a scholarship program that aims to promote the Nordic community.
Luleå University of Technology participates in two networks:
- NORDTEK - a subject-based network for civil engineering programs.
- NORDLYS - an interdisciplinary university network. NORDLYS is mainly aimed at those who want to study subjects other than those they study at their home university, interdisciplinary studies, especially in less internationalized subject areas.

Outside Europe
LTU has three types of mobility opportunities outside the EU: via our bilateral agreements, via North2North and via ISEP.
Northern region - North2North
North2North is an exchange program exclusively for student affairs in the Northern Region between educational institutions located in this region.
ISEP - International Student Exchange Program
ISEP, International Student Exchange Program, is an American network in which LTU participates, which consists of two parts:

Overseas bilateral agreements
Luleå University of Technology has several bilateral exchange agreements with universities in North and South America, Australia, Asia, and Mexico.
Common to exchanges with these universities is that the number of places is based on the number of incoming exchange students.
LTU students do not pay tuition fees at agreement schools.

Going on your own
If you prefer to go to a place other than those with which LTU has an exchange, it is possible to go on your own. Studying as a Free Mover generally involves a lot of work and it is required that you are out in good time, at least one year. If you study abroad as a Free Mover student, you apply for a study leave from LTU.
