UNIVERSEH – European Space University
for Earth and Humanity
We are part of the European Universities Alliance UNIVERSEH. Together with six other European universities, we want to create a common campus and facilitate mobility, multilingualism and diversity for our students, teachers, researchers and administrative staff.
About UNIVERSEH
UNIVERSEH was established in 2020 and is now in its second project period, focusing on space and the space sector. However, UNIVERSEH is an interdisciplinary project involving all students and staff, regardless of their field of study or research.
Above all, UNIVERSEH is about education. Among other things, it will make it easier to move between different campuses and take courses at the different universities, on site or remotely. Within the Alliance, we are working to develop innovative pedagogical methods, we are trying to find smart learning solutions and joint courses that can bring European students closer together. Examples of joint activities include summer and winter schools, staff weeks, innovation competitions and workshops, language courses, and joint courses and training programs.
UNIVERSEH also aims to:
- Strengthen European cooperation. By pooling resources and expertise from different universities, education and research will be improved and made more competitive, more sustainable and better equipped for the future.
- Promote mobility. Students and staff will move freely between participating institutions. This creates a diverse and rich learning environment. Mobility can be both physical and digital.
- Increase inclusion and accessibility. UNIVERSEH is working to make higher education more inclusive and accessible to all students, regardless of their background.
The work packages
LTU leads one of UNIVERSEH's eight work packages - Service to society - which, among other things, is about increasing cooperation on educational issues, building up joint master's programs and developing pedagogy in education.

What is a European University?
A European University is part of a European Union initiative to strengthen and promote higher education and research in Europe, launched in 2019 as part of the EU's
strategy to create a European Education Area by 2025. The European Universities aim to foster cooperation between universities in different EU countries and to create cross-border alliances of higher education institutions.
Today, there are around 50 European Universities. Through education and culture, universities contribute to building a stronger European identity, thereby strengthening the EU's
cohesion and future competitiveness.
