Meeting Location

The meeting will take place at Luleå University of Technolgy, Universitetsområdet, Porsön, Luleå.

How to get there:

Bus routes 4, 5 and 7 – get on at Smedjegatan, get off at Porsö centrum. Bus route 6 – get on at Smedjegatan, get off at Universitetsentrén. The bus ride takes 8–20 minutes.

You must pay on the bus by card or via the LLT (Luleå Lokaltrafik) mobile app. No cash accepted on buses.

Transportation from Airport

Public transport: bus route 4 (direction Centrum). Travel time to city center is approximately 15 minutes. Tickets can be purchased onboard using a credit or debit card or via the LLT (Luleå Lokaltrafik) mobile app. No cash accepted on buses.

Stuff good to know

• Cash is not king in Sweden. Many shops, restaurants, and all the buses, do not accept cash. Please bring your credit and debit card.
• Do you need darkness to sleep? Bring a sleep mask — the midnight sun will be at its peak during our meeting.
• Are you brave? Bring your swimsuit. Luleå is surrounded by water – sea and river – and there are plenty of long, beautiful beaches. The water temperature, however, will be... brisk.
• Water in a bottle! Sweden has clean and healthy tap water. Hence, we won’t be serving bottled water. Bring a bottle and fill it from the tap!

*Okey, we are stretching the truth. Luleå is situated 150 kilometres below the Arctic Circle, hence there is no midnight sun in its true meaning. But in our defence, the nights are bright and absolutely marvellous. When you arrive, the sun will rise at 01:15 and set at 23:57.
