Alumni of the year 2016
Over 100 people came to pay tribute to the winners of the Alumni of the Year at Luleå University of Technology. It was a festive and elegant ceremony when the winners, Maria Ågren, Director General of the Swedish Transport Agency, and Olov Renberg, one of the founders of BehavioSec, received the award and congratulations at Vetenskapens hus.
Tuesday evening's award ceremony attracted many students and alumni to Vetenskapens hus where a pre-drink and buffet were served. The festivities began with singing by the male choir Snapsakademien and then the Alumni of the Year 2016, Maria Ågren and Olov Renberg, took the stage to receive congratulations, diplomas, flowers and the classic glass statue, an ice block with an L, from Vice-Chancellor Johan Sterte who looked out over the well-attended venue:
- "It feels great that there are so many people here tonight and that we have such well-deserved winners. This year's alumni show that you can go far in life if you study and take advantage of the opportunities," said Johan Sterte.
