The purpose and objective of the Bothnian Bay treatment plant is to treat wastewater discharges in the best technical, environmental and economic way (BAT = Best Available Technique).
About the assignment
As we use a test facility for new technology for wastewater treatment, we want you to work with the new facility, which means investigating and verifying how the WEDEX technology can be used in the community's wastewater treatment.
The work includes sampling of both the incoming wastewater and the outgoing after the treatment process. Samples are also taken from the existing plant. Some sampling and handling is also done of the residual product that is created. This is to investigate alternative uses such as energy or fertilizer.
Reporting of sample results is done in Swedish and English, an extra plus if it can be done in Finnish (although not a requirement). Analysis of the wastewater beyond the normal is also done against the amount of bacteria, hormones, drug residues, viruses, radioactive substances, PFAOS, drugs, etc.
You will also gain an understanding of the regular treatment process and work within the normal daily activities that are going on.
During the internship period, we prefer that you can be on site two to three times per week, the rest of the time there is the possibility of working remotely.
Suitable education can be
Master of Science in Sustainable Process and Chemical Engineering.
