Grepit
About the company
Grepit is a spin-off of LTU that was founded in 2014 with a focus on embedded systems. In 2017 we started to recruit employees and grow its business with customers within different sectors like energy, mining, automotive, and other general industry customers. The projects were focused on developing hardware, from specs to PCB Design, to assembly and testing in our internal lab. All software was implemented and designed for the hardware from Rust, C, FPGA programming, and other more commonly used languages. In 2019 we started with the development of what is now Zpark, where their first product was a combination of an engine heater and an electric car charger.
During that development, Grepit needed to grow the company's expertise with front-end and app developers, mechanical engineers, and designers. Zpark is now one of the companies in the Tech Invest North group and, in line with its product focus, it has functions such as design, sales, support, etc. Grepit develops for Zpark as well as for the other sister company Innovative Living which focuses on building houses, smart home solutions, and smart neighbourhoods.
When it comes to internships, we want the experience to be as good as possible for the person and the company. After a few experiences, we want now to focus on the right talents to join us and find a good project for and together with them so that the outcome is a positive experience. During the internship, you will work on a limited-scope project or assignment, where you can work by yourself and within a team so that you won't be "on your own" during the summer.
About the project
We don't have yet defined projects to present but an example is the design of a home system, where we need to integrate several appliances and sensors and connect them in a UI so that the user can easily control them and visualize their energy consumption. This project considers many possible roles, from software/hardware integration to app/front-end development, and user experience design. We have many other assignments that we can define together combining your skills, wishes, and our project's needs.
We are looking for a person who is interested in learning, with a "can-do" attitude, and who enjoys experimenting with development, design, and implementation. If you feel you are the right candidate, please send us an email!
Suitable programmes can be
