What does the client/company get?
Not only do you get to complete a software project but you have the chance to make good contacts with the students for future recruitment, thesis and longer term employment. Finally, you get the chance to showcase job opportunities in the local IT industry and help more students stay and develop the region.
How does it work?
The students will work on planning, theoretical development, implementation, communication, documentation, customer contact, integration and more. The task is chosen by the students themselves from a list of primary proposals from the local industry. Oral interim report is performed at the end of October, oral final report in mid-December and written report in mid-January including report, software, installation instructions, etc.
What is required from the client?
- A selling problem statement including expected results (in Swedish or English) in the form of 1-2 A4. Tasks that are more open where the students themselves can come up with a solution are preferable.
- A contact person at the company who is familiar with the problem and interested in the assignment.
- Attend meetings when the need arises. The number of meetings varies, but expect about 1 meeting per week in the beginning and then a meeting every two weeks once the work has started.
- Feel free to invite the students to visit the workplace.
- Note that the students own the rights to their own work and if the company wants to take over the rights, it is a matter of negotiation with the students.
