Expected outcome
In the course, the student group will:
- Formulate together with the idea owner the point of the idea and how it creates value.
- Based on that, find out the market potential of the idea.
- Provide suggestions for ways to commercialize the idea so that it can become a successful innovation, with options such as licensing, further development, etc. or a recommendation not to proceed.
Implementation
In student groups of 2-4 people, the market is analysed by interviewing representatives of different market segments or possible buyer categories. The student groups have coaching and a lecture series with experts in innovation development, IPR and commercialization strategies.
Commitment
This is needed from the client ("idea owner"):
- An idea that has market potential but has not yet reached its market (in Swedish or English).
- The idea owner as a contact person, with a genuine interest in the assignment.
- Initially explains the idea to the student group and can take meetings during the course when the need arises.
Examples
Some examples of ideas:
- A new kind of training app
- Robot for airplane maintenance
- Sales channel for locally produced cheese
- A new recycling method
- Forging stand for berry bushes
